The Third Month (Sivan)

Sivan is mentioned in the book of Esther, Chapter 8 vs. 9.

It is also mentioned as the third month, when the Israelites reached Sinai in Exodus Chapter 19 vs. 1.

This year we begin Sivan with the 41st day of the Counting of the Omer, just before the 6th Shabbat and the last week of the Seven weeks of Counting, leading to Shavuot. The Appointed time of Shavuot (or Shabbatot, the celebration of Seven Shabbats) can be found in Leviticus 23vs15-21. This, as mentioned in the 1st month’s notes, is the only major error in the modern Jewish calendar (aside from the year). As it is a Moedim (Divine appointment) of Seven Shabbats, it will always begin by counting from the day after the first weekly Shabbat after Pesach, then after counting seven Shabbats or seven weeks (Shavuot), plus one day, it is therefore always celebrated on the first day of the week, regardless of the day of the month. This year it is the 10th of Sivan, (but will differ from most Jewish Calendars)

More importantly than calculating the date of Shavuot, we ought to be seeking to be filled with the Ruagh Ha’ Kodesh, and come before YHVH with joy and thanksgiving, in remembrance of the giving of the Torah, the Salvation of Yeshuah, and the gift of the Holy Spirit, which was poured out on the 50th day of the counting of the Omer, 10 days of waiting after the Ascension, 50 days of counting after the Resurrection.

Acts 2vs1-3: (KJV) “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.”
